The current financial system (interest)
Where has all our wealth gone if things are really that bad? Gone are the days when Americans buy things with their own money. Today 77% of American households carry debt with varying amounts. Today the median house costs $400,000, and is very unlikely many Americans can afford to pay that. The only possible solution to this aside from the government offering a 0% loan to help its citizens, is to let the banks offer 30 year 6.5% mortgages. Most people fail to realize this means you will pay the bank more to rent the money than you will pay for the house. Until year 17, you will be paying the bank more money than you will be paying towards the house. Good thing the government prevents large corporations and entities from taking advantage of everyday hardworking Americans. It's nice to know we can count on the government and banks to look out for us as we struggle and barely scrape by in this modern world.
